Meet the Honorees: Rudy Comeaux

Name someone that has been influential in your life.
My wife Francisca, has honestly had the most influence on my life. She and I have been together now for 15 years nearly half of our lives. She's a rock star and has always been my biggest supporter and sounding board for life decisions. 

Name a hobby, or your favorite sport.
Golf for my favorite sport and hobby; I also love being outside and working on construction projects hands on! 

What does being a Great Futures Gala Honoree mean to you? 
Being an honoree is very humbling. I truly love giving back to the community and want no recognition in return. It's humbling to see others notice your impact and influence in serving the community as well as progressing in our careers.

Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Plaquemine, Louisiana a small town just south of Greater Baton Rouge. I attended St. John School 1st-12th grade, graduating in 2004. We currently reside in my wife's family home. We are the 4th generation to live in this home, originally built in 1908!

Why do you feel it's important to give back?
Servant leadership is a concept I believe in which puts others ahead of yourself. We can do amazing things in our communities when we put others needs ahead of ourselves. Simply treating others the way we'd like to be treated goes a long way. It's our duty to care for each other and make sacrifices for the greater good of our community. 

What did you want to be growing up?
I loved all sports growing up and like most young boys probably wanted to be a professional athlete. Playing sports for a living is a pretty cool thing! #MuchRespectForPros!
